Product Description
The Humminbird 587ci HD Combo features a high resolution 640V x 480H 4.5-Inch color display, Dual Beam PLUS sonar with 300 Watts RMS power output, and 50 channel internal GPS Chartplotting with built-in UniMap. The UniMap covers the contiguous U.S.A. coastline and inland lakes and rivers at 30 meters per pixel resolution. On the coast, this clearly shows features as small as canals, and many coastal navigation lights. Inland, the UniMap features virtually all recreational lakes and rivers, plus hundreds of thousands of small lakes that don’t appear on other charts. In other words, your lake is likely to be there! With the UniMap, you have a chart virtually anywhere you travel in the United States. Features include SD card slot, Freeze Frame, Real Time Sonar window, instant image update, true arch technology, selective Fish ID, echo enhancement, split screen zoom, and wide or narrow cone split screen. The user-friendly technology includes custom digital readouts, large digit view, quick disconnect mounting, triplog, and X-press menu system. The unit has a built-in GPS antenna, SD card slot for increased memory storage, and can store 2,500 waypoints, 50 routes, and up to 50 saved tracks with 20,000 trackpoints each. The package includes a transom mount transducer, installation hardware, and owner-Feets manual. Dimensions: 6.9-Inch W x 7.5-Inch H x 4.5-Inch D. One year parts and labor warranty.

This is my second hummingbird, however, my first w/ GPS Maps. I am happy once again w/ my choice. Installation wasn't bad but placement of the transducer was made harder by poor instructions. The plastic mount is fine but the way hummingbird uses the plastic mount for the back up of the screw is poor because it strips out if you are not careful. Additionally, the Map screen can be to small if you don't pay attention Other wise, the system works just like I expected and then some. Still there are a lost of features that I need to figure out. Over all I recommend the fish/depth/gps system for the price.

Great product and a great value, I am so looking forward to charting my favorite fishing holes and feeling safer out there on the water with this quality product.

This may be a good unit once you learn how to use it. It does not come with a user manual, comes with a disc. I do not have a desktop or laptop on my boat. I had to print out over 40 pages of instructions and still did not have all the information needed to fully utilize all capabilities of this unit. Also, you have to use a separate battery from your boat battery because it picks up interference from your electrical system on the boat and turns itself off or locks up and you have to unplug the power source to clear the problem. So, the jury is still out on how good this product is.
